For Love Of Country
Original Air Date: August 28, 2005 AudioLink_2005_0828
Show Category: Patriotism
Show Description: Some of this country?s best and brightest are leaving college, their families, and their comfortable lives to join the United States' military and serve their country in the war on terror. It is truly terrible that war exists at all, but it is also awe-inspiring to see the all-volunteer force that has assembled to fight this war. Young men and women are volunteering to leave the comforts and protections of this great country in order stand ready to fight for, and protect, the freedoms that we hold so dear. We owe them our support, our prayers, and our gratitude. This war is worth fighting and the young women and men who are fighting it are incredibly noble. I pray for their guidance, protection, and welfare everyday. I know a number of young adults who are currently fighting this war, and others who have made the ultimate sacrifice. That makes it personal for me. Do you have family and friends fighting in Afghanistan, Iraq, or other hot spots around the world? How are you supporting them? How are you coping while they are in harm?s way?
