WWJ...V? Who Would Jesus Vote (for)?
Original Air Date: December 9, 2007 AudioLink_2007_1209
Show Category: Politics
Show Description: This week Mitt Romney addressed his faith while giving a speech at Texas A&M. Huckabee has also seen quite the bump in the Iowa caucuses. So I figured I would talk about WWJV: who would Jesus vote for. Here's my shocking revelation: I don't think Jesus would vote. And if He would vote, He'd probably quietly vote and go back down the street doing what He was set to do for that day.

HWJV – How Would Jesus Vote?

Mitt speech on his Mormon faith

Huckabee surge but discomfort – creationist view coming under fire plus past comments about AIDS patients

Obama campaigning with Oprah but Andrew Young says he is too young, voting for Hillary – Bill went with as many black women as Obama did

For a lot of people, faith is important factor

HWJV

If He were here, what way would He determine person to lead America

How Would Jesus Vote

What atrributes – how would He assess character

Compassion, freedom, personal faith, defense, problem solving, leadership, honesty and integrity

Scientists – 5 questions,conundrums

Compassion – John Edwards

Personal faith – Huckabee

Defense, threat of Islam – Rudy

Honesty and integrity – Romney

Problem solving – Obama or Rudy

Intelligence – Hillary

Freedom – to me, this one really matters and I am not sure who values our freedom

I think that is important to God – let people make their own decisions – good or bad

But those are my opinions

What about Jesus?

Here's the deal – I don't think He cares

Not even sure if He would vote

Tired of the overblown conversation as if we were electing a pope

Jesus spent almost zero time with the ruling authorities

When He did, they killed Him

He told folks to accept the authorities, render unto Caesar that which was His

Because Jesus' point was a whole lot bigger

Something far larger to be concerned with

Your soul – eternal

Would Jesus vote? He might – pretty sure He would not worry about it

He'd then go spend the rest of His day in a leper colony

Should Christians vote? Sure, right thing to do, let voice be heard

But don't take it too seriously – Kingdom of God not riding on it
