Faith In The Workplace
Original Air Date: April 10, 2005 AudioLink_2005_0410
Show Category: Workplace
Show Description: As corporations and businesses in America grow larger and more impersonal, and the pace of life continues to accelerate, more and more companies are making room for religious practices in the workplace. Thousands of workplace worship and Bible study groups exist today, and the numbers continue to grow. This fact is particularly apparent at a number of FORTUNE 500 companies including Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Ford, Intel, Texas Instruments, and Sears. Many companies have learned that employees are seeking to find religious fellowship and community in the workplace. As such, many companies are working to add a religious ?perk? to the office, warehouse, or boardroom. While many people see the benefits of faith being visibly displayed and practiced in the workplace, a large number of workers feel that faith has no place in the office. Those employees, hoping to exclude faith from the workplace, feel that religious practices lead to groups or cliques that are exclusive and could potentially lead to discrimination against employees who do not take part. If you ask me, reinforcing Judaeo-Christian values in the workplace seems like a meaningful and worthwhile effort. What do you think? Does your company allow religious practices on company time and property? Should it?

Quotes to Live By
"We weren't made to be ignored. And though we try to pretend it doesn't really matter, the collective effect of living in a world apathetic to our existence is doing damage to our souls."
-John Eldredge
