I Can't Go To War, I Am A Mother
Monday, November 16, 2009
Alexis Hutchinson is a soldier in the US Army and was set to deploy this past week. But she didn't show. Her excuse: she had no one to leave her son with. I admit I am torn on this issue, but a deal is a deal and frankly, being a mom is not an excuse to miss one's deployment. Although I do think this is another reason that shows why women in combat is not a good idea.
