Movies, Movies and More Movies
Caught three flicks while our family was together for Christmas.

So here's my reviews and official Allen Hunt Show grades for each.

Feel free to share suggestions or comments on these or other movies you have seen of late.

4 Christmases
Much better than expected. Although Vince Vaughn is miscast in the lead role, Reese Witherspoon, Robert DuVall, and others more than make up for it. A funky journey through step-family Christmases. With a little self-discovery thrown in along the way. Could have easily been shortened by deleting the superfluous Dwight Yoakum church scene, but still a delight.
Allen Hunt Show grade = B

Bedtime Stories
Adam Sandler + Disney = Good Stuff. Go figure?! Sandler plays an uncle who tells bedtime stories to his nephew and niece, but the parts they contribute become reality in his life the next day. Entertaining, fun, and a pleasant surprise. I recommend it for all ages.
Allen Hunt Show grade = B+

Curious Case of Benjamin Button
An odd adaptation of an F Scott Fitzgerald short story. Fitzgerald (I am a big fan) handles the plot much better than the movie producers do. Perhaps it is because the story deals with the unusual idea of a man born at old age who leads a "reverse life" until he dies as an infant. Fascinating idea. But 2 hours and 48 minutes for a movie demands a level of excellence that this movie does not deliver. 30 minutes could have been edited out without effort (e.g., the whole tug boat journey could go). Nevertheless, the oddity of the plot makes it intriguing.
Allen Hunt Show grade = C+

Description
The Allen Hunt Show is about faith and life, plain and simple. According to a Gallup Poll in May of 2005, 85% of Americans consider their faith important or fairly important to their lives. Yet there is a gap on the talk radio airwaves that examines where faith and life come together. This show fills that gap like nothing currently on the radio. This is not one more political talk show, nor is it another faith-based counseling show because ultimately, life is not about what is right or left, but about what is right and wrong. The Allen Hunt Show takes on real life issues, with real life people, to see how faith can have a real impact. Join us on Saturdays from 9-12 PM and Sundays from 6-9 PM. Blessings!
