Chronicles and Caspian
My elder daughter went to see Prince Caspian. She said it is wonderful. I can't wait to go. But it will have to wait.

In the meantime, our family is going on a short trip to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary (one of my 6 key goals for 2008). I am taking along a copy of two volumes from the Chronicles of Narnia series, including Prince Caspian. Sadly, the only one I have ever read is “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” Planning on correcting that while on our trip. Will try to read at least two of the series while on planes, etc.

Have you been to see Prince Caspian? Please share your reviews and impressions.
And have you read any or all of the volumes in the series? Which was your favorite and why?

I am all ears – summer is upon us. Time for some good vacation and reading.

How about a review of The Reason-Driven Life by Robert M. Price?

Also I might recommend Deconstructing Jesus or The Incredible Shrinking Son of Man by the same author.

Also Finding Darwin's God by Ken Miller is good.

Gravatar.com While I DO NOT ADVISE r-e-a-d-i-n-g during a trip to celebrate your 20th anniversary (knock, knock, hello? anyone home?), I would recommend starting with Magician's Nephew and reading each of the Narnia books in order... even re-read Lion, Witch in it's proper order. Makes infinitely more sense that way.

I like the way you think...you don't happen to be early 20s and single?? ;)

I also wouldn't advise taking your kids to celebrate your 20th anniversary, but Allen did.

I suppose he did it to serve as a reminder not to try making any new ones. Face it, teenagers are the best form of birth control open to him now that he is a Catholic.

You're suppose to be my wing man, not making me look pathetic. Thanks for that.

Allen must be so proud of his executive producer.

Fair enough. But I have to agree with Erik there. Didn't you have a chance to meet any real-life girls (beach honeys!) during your vacation?

A note on Prince Caspian: I haven't seen the movie yet (will wait for the DVD or a Christian chick who wants to missionary date me, whichever comes first) but it looks to me that it has been a disappointment box office wise. Tony Stark and the geriatric Indiana Jones are both leaving the young prince (why is he named after a landlocked sea mostly in what used to be Soviet Union?) in the dust.

By the way, did Allen not have any shows this weekend or are you just too tired after your vacation to upload them on the website?

Allen's in Italy still having brunch with the Pope or something. Ok, that might not be true, but he is still in Italy.

Don't you remember this post? How in the world would meeting some girl on the beach for a week work out? I mean, don't get me wrong, I am sure it could, but for some reason in my head, that would never work out, so I don't even try.

Plus, all the hot girls (there were two) we met at the beach were Seniors in high school...so, I think I'll pass on that.

When she gets done and realizes it is hopeless, just go ahead and give her my phone number ;)

We did a "rerun" episode. I don't upload those because they are already there from previous weeks.

Do I have to draw you a diagram? :)

I am not saying you should marry her (that's what Las Vegas is for). Just have some fun for a week. In the unlikely event that something more develops, great, but if not you've had a pleasurable vacation fling.

Some of HS seniors are already 18 (and age of consent is 16 in SC anyway, I just looked it up). But where are all the hot college girls (and beyond)? Maybe you just have very particular tastes and only find really young (i.e. 18 or thereabouts) girls "hot"? In that case, goto first line of this paragraph.

Allen really needs a guest host. Erik for example, or Allen could let you man the mic for a weekend.

Excellent suggestion. Unfortunately Allen is too in love with Allen to ever share the bandwidth.

Gravatar.com Perhaps Erik should approach the powers that be at WSB and get his own spot. I mean, hey, Rush Limbaugh has diametrically opposing talk show hosts, right?
And since your main goal in life seems to run Allen and his show down.... er.. hmm... that didn't sound too great. Surely it isn't your main goal in life, right, Erik? You must have other more lofty goals.

Truth is a niche market, my dear; meanwhile there is an endless supply of gullible peasants eager to consume Allen's spiritual pablum.

Have a nice day.

Hmmm...I can put links in the comments on my personal blog, but I can't do that here. I am going to have to play around with that. I thought I was running the same engine.

What's Allen Up To?

Description
The Allen Hunt Show is about faith and life, plain and simple. According to a Gallup Poll in May of 2005, 85% of Americans consider their faith important or fairly important to their lives. Yet there is a gap on the talk radio airwaves that examines where faith and life come together. This show fills that gap like nothing currently on the radio. This is not one more political talk show, nor is it another faith-based counseling show because ultimately, life is not about what is right or left, but about what is right and wrong. The Allen Hunt Show takes on real life issues, with real life people, to see how faith can have a real impact. Join us on Saturdays from 9-11 PM and Sundays from 6-9 PM. Blessings!
