Nazi Emory
Here we go again. The assault on free speech, free inquiry, and intellectual pursuits continues at Emory University in Atlanta.

In the same week that Emory hosted the Dalai Lama and several speeches and events in which he shared a message emphasizing grace, compassion, and tolerance, Emory also hosted David Horowitz. Horowitz was scheduled to speak on Islamo-fascism awareness week topics.

I.e., Horowitz wants to expose the truth about Islam, violence, and terror. At Emory, he never had a chance. He was shouted down and had to be escorted from the room for safety purposes. A short video can be seen at www.incorrectu.com.

Shameful may not be a strong enough word. Emory preaches tolerance and free intellectual inquiry. Emory practices oppression and suppression.

I graduated from Emory's Candler School of Theology in 1991, and my experience included speech codes, closed discourse, and shout-downs of opposing views. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The virus of political correctness continues to infect.

Gravatar.com Allen, I agree completely that the actions of so called "liberals"/"leftists" on college campuses is despicable, especially for those of us, like me (& David Horowitz), who were the pre-cursors to today's hypocrites who call themselves "liberal", or worse, "progressive"! Back when David & I were quite "leftist", we were up in arms, advocating free speech, civil rights for blacks, Latinos, & women, and of course protesting against the Vietnam War....

Today's fakirs would make those who fought & even lost their lives (Kent State/Freedom Riders, MLK, RFK, etc.), roll over in their graves. To claim our 1st Amendment rights, we must make sure EVERYONE has those very same rights, NOT just those with whom we agree!

However, Allen, I find it interesting that those expressing so much "righteous indignation" over the antics of many of these students/faculty, were deafeningly silent when it was our current president & vice-president, who so outrageously constrained those very same rights, during their campaigns, and THEY are grown-ups, who not only should know better, but who have SWORN TO GOD, before the world, to UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION!

They have so trampled the principles & rights contained in that document, that even hard-line conservatives as Bob Barr, John Dean, George Will, and numerous others, are outraged & shocked! But, you, and so many others in the media, with the power of the microphone, are so silent when they abuse our rights, yet so quick to vilify college students (who you and I both know, think they know everything, but don't, and won't till they get out into the real world)....

I've been around for numerous presidential campaigns, and NEVER in my life, had I ever seen access to a campaign speech (unless it was a paid admission fund-raiser) restricted to only those who are confirmed supporters & party members!!!

That's so totally UN-American, it's truly astounding there was no huge public uproar......but then again, as brainwashed & willing to let others think for them, far too many Americans are today, I'm really not that surprised, just depressed.....

What's Allen Up To?

Description
The Allen Hunt Show is about faith and life, plain and simple. According to a Gallup Poll in May of 2005, 85% of Americans consider their faith important or fairly important to their lives. Yet there is a gap on the talk radio airwaves that examines where faith and life come together. This show fills that gap like nothing currently on the radio. This is not one more political talk show, nor is it another faith-based counseling show because ultimately, life is not about what is right or left, but about what is right and wrong. The Allen Hunt Show takes on real life issues, with real life people, to see how faith can have a real impact. Join us on Saturdays from 9-11 PM and Sundays from 6-9 PM. Blessings!
