EVENT DESCRIPTION
The Tara Council of the Knight's of Columbus will sponsor a Catholic Men's Conference for the Southeastern United States at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church on July 25th & 26th, 2008. The theme of this conference will focus on the role of men to "Be Doers of the Word", and will feature the following speakers: Reverend Fr. Peter Prusakiewicz, CSMA from Marki, Poland: Fr. Peter is currently the chief editor of a magazine in Poland "Who is Like God". He has conducted many retreats on the Holy Angels, and is considered an expert on both Divine Mercy & Holy Angels. He is faithfully carrying out the request of the late Holy Father, John Paul n to "help spread the urgent message of God's Divine Mercy". John Martignoni is the Founder and President of the Bible Christian Society, an apologetics and evangelization apostolate dedicated to teaching and explaining the truths of the Catholic Faith. He is also the host of EWTN Open Line, a live, internationally telecast call-in program of Bible apologetics every Monday afternoon on EWTN Radio. John travels throughout the country and internationally speaking at parishes and conferences about the Catholic Faith and the Bible. Hundreds of thousands of copies of his talks have been distributed in all 50 states and more than 30 foreign countries. His talks, and a number of other apologetics materials, are available for FREE on his website: www.biblechristiansociety.com Allen Hunt is a former Methodist minister & pastor for over 15 years, newly convert to Catholicism; is a talk radio host, "Faith & Life " on WSB radio (750am) here in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Hunt sees his show as "similar to St. Paul's adventures in the Acts of the Apostles when the Evangelist goes to the hilltop meeting in Athens and has a dialogue with the thinkers and philosophers of the day." Mr. Hunt will bring a unique perspective to this Men's Conference on Living God's Word. Monsignor Hugh M. Marren is a Parochial Vicar for the Archdiocese of Atlanta, Ga. and the pastor of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Roswell, Ga. Monsignor is a gifted homilist and loves to wind a bit of humor throughout his Gospel message. Leading the music for the 2 day event is one of the most spiritually gifted musician's of our time, Mr. Jim Cowan. For many years, Jim was the music Minister for Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, and led thousands through weekend Catholic Conferences. He and his family now reside in Panama City, Florida where he is the Music Director for St. Dominic Parish. Jim and his group of other musicians will lead us in spirit filled song and praise of our Lord. Rev. Mr. John Grigus, OFM. Conv., Associate Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua in Rockford, Illinois. He is a nationally known conference speaker and has conducted Hundreds of retreats at Marytown ( National Shrine of Saint Maximilian Kolbe). Reverend Mr. Tom Stonecipher was a Baptist minister for many years and now is a convert to the Catholic Church here in North Georgia. He assists the parochial staff at St. John's in Hapeville, Ga. Tom has a truly insightful message to share with us all on his call to conversion, and how his life has changed and grown spiritually. The opening session of the Conference will begin with the celebration of the Mass and is open to your families to attend. Mass will begin at 7:30PM and is an excellent opportunity for us men to be the spiritual leaders of our families. This entire Men's Conference will be filled not only with spiritual messages, but also help us men to calm down our lives and allow us to come to a place of worship where we can fall in love with our Creator all over again.
